Going Gaga for MAC Cosmetics

Lady Gaga (my fav.) and Cyndi Lauper are the two new cover girls for M-A-C Cosmetics. They are the faces of the new Viva Glam VII Campaign which benefits those living with HIV/AIDS. What's cool about this program is that 100%, yes 100% of the proceeds go to the M-A-C Aids Fund.

Review: In the spirit of giving and in the name of Lady Gaga, I had to buy this super sweet lipstick. It even comes with her signature on it. This color is like a barbie/rosy pink and looks so nice with M-A-C Plushglass, " Ample Pink". Cyndi's signature lipstick is more of a Wine/Berry color and I'm sure it looks great on everyone. So, head down to your local Nordy's or M-A-C pro stores and help support those living with this horrible disease.

Rating: 5/5 It'll make your soul feel good that you contributed to a great cause!
P.S. If you know Lady Gaga, you shouldn't be surprised that she is the new face of this campaign!

For those of you who know me, you'll admit that if you could call the color of my complexion something, it would be PORCELAIN. I have very fair skin with undertones and sometimes, I want to look like I have a bit of color without it looking fake.

Product: Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream - It's a lightly scented self tanning cream with pure cocoa extracts.

Review: I walked into Sephora and asked one of the associates for the best product in the store. I was looking for an even application, didn't want to risk looking splotchy or orange and didn't want to smell like Sunscreen lotion....it's a big giveaway of a sunless tanning product! I initially bought this for the Vegas trip I went on in January and was hoping for a product that I could use randomly to give me that summer glow I've always wanted. I put it on the morning of and noticed that the application wasn't streaky whatsoever. In fact, I beleive the associate told me that because it has caramel in it (or something of that nature) it will show you where you have left off and won't set in your skin until after a few minutes. She also told me that when applying this with your hands, it's best to do one arm or leg, wash your hands and then apply the other. This will prevent that orange residue.

Rating: I'll give it 4/5. I agree in that it gave me a nice glow, but I could still smell that fake/sunless tanning product smell! The application itself was easy and I will recommend not putting your clothes on or taking a shower for at least a half hour. I put my white tank top on and the insides were lightly stained.

Smashbox Baby

Hi everyone! This first post is going to showcase some of Smashbox's top products...products that I've tried and have liked enough to buy.

1) Eyelights Palette: Smokebox (ivory shimmer/ taupe shimmer/ black with micro glitter)

Review: You can find this at your local Nordstrom store or Sephora. This 3-color palette debuted during the winter time and is absolutely perfect for those fun nights out! I'm so make-up obsessed and all it took for me to purchase this was merely noticing the counter girl's makeup. She had this really awesome, eye-popping lid which resembled Kim Kardashian's signature look.... Smokey Black along the lashline/outer corner and a nice chocolate color on the crease. If you must know, "Keeping up with the Kardashians" is my guilty pleasure and I have a secret (or not to secret) girl-crush on Kim. Her eyes are always so smoldering/sexy/beautiful and I would kill to make my eyes look that nice!

These colors are good on any skin-tone because they are build-able and always remember that, "Less is more".. especially with trying to achieve that smokey look everyone seems to sport.

Rating: Overall, I'd give it a 5/5. The color payoff and the price ($34) are so reasonable and this palette is so handy and slim, you can take it anywhere with you.Another great thing about this palette is the amount of looks you can acheive with just these three colors...day to night in a flash.
2) Heartbreaker Liquid Liner Pen (LIMITED EDITION)

Review: I'm not sure if you can purchase this Limited Edition Liquid Liner pen at Nordstrom, but you can definitely find it at Sephora (while supplies last). In the craze of liquid liner pens (I swear I can name 3 brands off the top of my head who have followed this trend), this seems to have the best color-pay off. I've tested about five different pen liners and they all have one thing in common: Streaks!!! However, this pen does everything but that. The color pay-off is highly pigmented and looks as wet as a regular liquid liner, except that you don't have to dip your brush to get more product. I would recommend this liner if you are too lazy or have too little time to keep dipping your pen in a gel-liner, powder or even liquid formula. The liner goes on streak free and although there is no indication of water-proof abilities, it sure stays on. In fact, I took this liner to Vegas with me where it was hot and sweaty inside the clubs. To my surprise, not one drop/smear/smudge or tear!

Rating: I'm basing this review off of pen liners only. I love the wet look and this pen liner does the trick. My eyes tend to water a lot and this is a big factor in my review. I've never had streaks of liner coming down my eyes with this product and once you put it on and it dries, you'll need makeup remover to get it off. With the price ($24) and the jet-black color, I'd give this a 4/5. This is a high rating for a liquid liner pen, but again, with everything I look for in a pen-liner, you really can't go wrong with Smashbox. The only aspect of this product is that it works better on your lid if you pull the lid slightly. Otherwise, there's some tugging. They're limited edition, so please grab a few with you.
